Our presenter for July’s meeting will be Deven Tenney from Quilt Mercantile in Celeste.  He is a certified machine technician who services Janome, Elna, Bernina, and Handi Quilter machines. His program will be Tips and Tricks to Keep Your Machine Working For YOU. He sent the following info on the program.

Today’s sewing machines are amazing pieces of machinery.  We depend on them to keep us doing what we love.  Like any piece of machinery, they require attention from time to time.  Thanks to our machine servicing department, we can identify recurring issues which you can prevent from happening.  Let us spend a bit of time with you to help you avoid those preventable issues and keep you stitching.

We will discuss:

Taking the mystery out of how the stitch is made

  • Threads and needles- what works best and why
  • Why thread tension is important
  • Which machine oil to use (and what NOT to use)
  • What to clean on your machine and how to do it
  • Whatever questions you may have

Our August meeting will be our own Leo Ransom with a program on Portrait Quilts and Fabric Layering.
